Fairy Rings and Spider Webs

Dear Miss Jenna, I was out and about in the gardens the other day, and thought I’d share a picture of what I found. It looks like we got the missing rain back to Texas just in time. We’ve been getting enough rain on the gardens that the trees, flowers and fairies can get things ready for winter. Here is a picture of one of the fairy rings I have found so far, and … Continue reading

Billie-Bob’s Legacy

Things are really coming to life in the gardens, a lot of curious things are going on. I can’t wait until your visit so you can show them to me. It seems that though I am in the garden almost every day, but I don’t really see it until it a little cowgirl shows it to me. Billy-Bob’s House

Then the freezing rains came in. I knew it wouldn’t be long now. Continue reading

Billy Bob grows a little bit

Dear Miss Jenna, I hope you can see by these pictures, that I am taking really good care of your spider. When Billy Bob moved under the porch, he must have eaten quite a bit.  He’s starting to grow a bit.  He’s big enough now that he comes out in the day to hunt. He’s done a great job of ridding the yard of grasshoppers. Even as big as Sally got, it was nothing like … Continue reading

Billy Bob’s Dilemma, Update

I have been spared of the decision. Nature made it for me. (Read about the dilemma here; Billy Bob and the Moral Dilemma) The recent storms that blew through were pretty rough. In my 10 years here, it was some of the worst I’d seen in that short of a time. During one particularly bad downpour, I wondered how Billy Bob was holding up. I looked out the back door to check on him. There … Continue reading
